 Members in the Public Utilities Association are enterprises which are dealing with gathering, clearing up and distribution of water, waste waters and garbage, funeral and other associated activities, organization of green markets, etc.


In the Republic of Macedonia there are around 70 -teeth enterprises which are active in the above mentioned activities, in accordance with the positive legal provisions in the Republic of Macedonia.

Constitution session of the Public Utilities Association was held on February 24th, 2005 when for President of the Association was elected Mr. Zdravko Brezovski, JP Parkovi i zelenilo – Skopje.

On the session was reached a Decision for election of the members of the Managing Board and representatives from the Public Utilities Association in the Assembly of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.

 Public Utilities activity (water supply, gathering of waste, maintenance of greenery, funeral services) in the Republic of Macedonia is carried out by 70 (seventy) public enterprises.


The activity is carried out by establishing of a public enterprise for public utilities, by giving concession for carrying out the activities set by the Law on public utilities. Municipalities can establish public enterprise in order to organize and carry out   of public utilities and running a business with the public utilities` facilities of local character. Two or more municipalities, respectively, the City of Skopje with mutual agreement can establish inter-municipality public enterprise.

 Communal activities (water supply, garbage collection, maintenance of greenery, funeral services) perform in Macedonia 70 (seventy) public enterprises.

The activity is done by establishing a public utility company, by giving concession for performing the activities specified in the Law on Communal Activities. Municipalities may establish public utility for organizing and conducting quality of public works and facilities management of the communal infrastructure of local character. Two or more municipalities or the City, by mutual agreement may establish inter-municipal public enterprise.
