Azeski Appointed to the International Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana, Top-Ranked on the Shanghai Ranking List in the Region

 The President of the Economic Chamber, Branko Azeski, will be officially appointed on 8 March 8, 2026, in Ljubljana as a member of the International Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Business (SEB) at the University of Ljubljana.

“This is yet another recognition of our efforts to establish a strong link between academia and business,” Azeski said regarding his appointment to this prestigious position, alongside many prominent names from the European business and academic spheres, including Prof. Ana Paula Africano S. Silva from the University of Porto; Prof. Anna Blombäck from the International Business School in Jönköping; Prof. Hannah Holmes from the Manchester Metropolitan University; Paola Papanicolaou from the Intesa Sanpaolo banking group; Prof. Markus Rudolf from the Otto Beisheim School of Management in Düsseldorf; Prof. Rupert Sausgruber, Rector of the Vienna University of Economics and Business; Janez Škrabec, General Manager of Riko d.o.o., Slovenia; and Branko Žibret from Kearney, Austria.

SEB is one of the most influential and leading higher education institutions in the fields of economics and business education and research in Slovenia and the broader region, creating future leaders, innovators, and strategists. The School focuses strongly on research, organizing more than 30 scientific seminars and conferences annually, with results published in leading international academic journals. Its laboratories enable interdisciplinary research at the intersection of economics, finance, and psychology, opening the door to new solutions for the future.

The University of Ljubljana is the only Slovenian university ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), better known as the Shanghai Ranking. Since 2003, the ranking has been based on several criteria, including Nobel Prize winners, highly cited researchers, citation indices, and papers published in leading scientific journals such as Nature and Science. SEB is ranked 60th on the Shanghai Ranking list.

P.S. Tomorrow, a promotional event will be held at the Economic Chamber: Revolution in Education: The Power of Dual Education in Macedonia – the first completed project among the three major priorities of the Chamber, which will reaffirm the important role of business in the project initiated in 2014. The Economic Chamber, together with a group of companies and vocational schools, completed the dual education system in secondary vocational schools by procuring equipment for practical training, with support from the German Development Bank KfW.
