The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia, in partnership with the Association of International Freight Forwarders and Logistics Operators – MIFA, held a presentation intended for companies, focused on the practical application and challenges related to SEPA payments.

The presentation aimed to provide companies with a more detailed understanding of the new rules for cross-border euro transactions, as well as the benefits arising from joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). This event forms part of the broader activities of the National Bank aimed at informing and supporting domestic companies in the process of aligning with EU standards in the payment system, particularly following the integration of the country’s banks into SEPA. The National Bank will continue to actively work on bringing the benefits of SEPA closer to companies and the wider public through continuous cooperation with banks, relevant institutions, and the business community, with the goal of timely identifying and overcoming potential challenges in practical implementation.

In addition to the informative segment, the presentation also enabled an interactive discussion during which company representatives shared their experiences and the challenges they encounter in day-to-day operations. It was emphasized at the meeting that SEPA brings significant benefits, such as faster transactions, lower costs, and greater transparency, which is particularly important for companies that frequently make payments to foreign partners, especially in Austria, Italy, Germany, and Greece.

MIFA will continue to encourage all initiatives aimed at better informing the business community and will support measures and activities that increase the functionality and efficiency of state institutions.
