The Economic Chamber of North Macedonia and the Fiscal Council of the Republic of North Macedonia have signed a cooperation agreement, establishing a foundation for regular communication and partnership in key areas such as macroeconomic trends, monetary and fiscal frameworks, and public finance management. The goal is to enhance mutual information sharing to maximize the predictability of the business environment for economic entities.
The agreement, signed by Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, and Prof. Dr. Gligor Bishev, President of the Fiscal Council, provides for the exchange of data, analyses, reports, and opinions of mutual interest. This will enable deeper coordination between the two institutions. Additionally, the agreement includes provisions for joint participation in projects, programs, and analyses.
Furthermore, both parties will collaborate in organizing training sessions, educational events, and workshops addressing current economic challenges. The cooperation will also involve mutual expert support to identify the most favorable solutions to complex economic issues facing the country.
The Fiscal Council, an independent body appointed by the Assembly, aims to provide independent expert opinions on fiscal policies, strategic documents, and reports, as well as to oversee the implementation of fiscal rules to ensure macroeconomic stability and fiscal sustainability. The first composition of the Fiscal Council includes the Chairperson Prof. Dr. Gligor Bishev, nominated by the National Bank, and Members Abdulmenaf Bedjeti, Academician, nominated by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU), and Dr. Marina Trpeska, Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics, UKIM, nominated by the State Audit Office.
