Azeski Expresses Condolences and Supports the Government’s Commitment to Accountability

17/03/2025

The Ohrid boat tragedy, the Lascarci bus accident, the airplane incidents in Ohrid and Skopje, the Tetovo modular hospital fire, and the recent nightclub Pulse incident in Kochani all confirm a harsh reality—we have failed to build a structurally functional state that serves its citizens. Instead, 34 years after independence, we are still living in a system that works against their interests. I won’t even mention the private business sector, as my stance on that is already well known. Here, only one word matters—accountability. Prime Minister Mickoski’s government must elevate it to the highest pedestal. This means sanctions for all, exemptions for none.

The ECNM and its members—some of the most reputable Macedonian companies—express deep sorrow and condolences to the victims, the injured, and their families. The Chamber also publicly announces that, starting today, it will coordinate efforts among its members who have expressed a desire to provide organized assistance to the families of the victims. This will be managed through the Chamber’s Professional Service (Biljana Lepavcova, +389 71 291-736).

As an initial emergency response, employees of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia will donate 2 million denars tomorrow to the local government’s account in Kochani. Further coordinated corporate support will be delivered immediately.

Although it is uncommon in such moments to bring up other matters, I would also like to extend my condolences to the business owners and managers from the region, whose employees suffered an irreplaceable loss. I know no words can provide true comfort, but expressing sympathy and offering support is a human duty—because the Chamber and its members are one family.

The Chamber has also received letters of condolence from partner chambers, expressing their willingness to assist in any way necessary.
